Explore Mills Pond Park, home to the 16-foot Mills Pond Falls, as well as a scenic walking path, picnic pavilion, and winter ice skating rink. There’s also the Cedar Mountain Hiking Trail, which climbs Cedar Mountain to a scenic overlook and is part of the larger Newington Greenway System. The Greenway is comprised of five separate corridors—Cedar Mountain/Balf Park Ridgeline Vista Trail, Rock Hole Brook, Young’s Farm Greenway, Twenty Rod Road and Candlewick Greenway, and the Piper Brook Flood Control Greenway.

Additionally, the town maintains several other parks throughout the community, which provide amenities such as athletic fields and courts, picnic areas, playgrounds, nature trails, fishing ponds, ice skating rinks, and community gardens. There are also numerous recreational facilities, like a skate park, recreation center, and community center, and plenty of recreational programs, special events, leagues, and sports for all ages to enjoy.
